Marketing Fails: Angering Your Target Audience is a Bad First Impression

In marketing, making your target audience mad is not the right way to start off. Even though the average […]

If a Logo Doesn’t Work in Black and White, It Doesn’t Work

My professor in college was right. If a logo doesn’t work in black and white, it doesn’t work well at all. An effective logo shouldn’t have to rely on color to be clear and effective. The sad thing is, it took me about twenty years to grasp how right he was. Funny how that works. […]

Thoughts on Hiring a Logo Designer

I’ve mentioned before that, when you pay for a logo design (or any design really), you’re not buying a “thing”. You’re paying for much more than the files your designer will hand you at the end of the process. Obviously, I do logo design, and I’d love to talk with you more about how I […]

What Makes a Logo Great?

I am a design and typography geek. I’ve to messaged companies on social media to tell them how much I enjoy their new rebrands and redesigns. A great logo design pleases me. I had a professor in college that used to say that if a logo didn’t work in black and white, before adding whatever […]

Overcoming the Challenges of Entrepreneurial ADHD

ADHD and Working From Home

In my home, we often joke around about ADHD (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, or as my kids call it, “attention deficit oh look, there’s a squirrel…”).
