Life According to YOUR Values
A huge part of getting more done isn’t actually getting more done. Instead, we must, for our own sanity and the good of everyone around us, learn to get the right things done.
Of course, once you live your life according to your values, and your own priorities, you may receive some flack from others. Some people love to expect you to drop everything for them and their priorities, but they aren’t so keen when your priorities don’t line up with theirs.
You probably don’t need to add more to your already packed life.
Instead, consider what level of busy you can maintain while being happy, healthy, and cultivating good relationships with those who matter most. Then build a fence around that. Say no to anything that will make you busier than you know you can handle.
You know what I mean.
There’s a certain point in your life where your brain short circuits, your body is weary, the family life feels strained, and everyone is crabby. That’s the “too busy” point.
You and I both need to stay out of the too busy zone.
To have better priorities, figure out what is most important to you in your life, right now. I say “Right Now” because our priorities change as we move into different seasons of life. For example, if you have a houseful of little kids, your priorities will differ from an empty nester or a single young professional. Life comes at us in seasons, and we need to respect that.
