Art Nouveau Style Herb and Spice Jar Labels

I’ve posted before about some of my herb and spice jar label styles that I’ve created. I have some that you can print off for free on my website, and I have others that can be purchased pre-printed from Zazzle. This saves you some printer ink and the hassle of printing your spice jar labels yourself.

I often grow my own herbs and spices. Herb gardening is one of my hobbies.

What I don’t grow, I buy in bulk from a local bulk food store. To keep my herbs and spices fresher, I remove them from the bags and lightweight containers they’re sold in, and I put my herbs and spices into washed out salsa jars and gravy jars. (I write quite a bit about shopping in bulk in my ebook Grocery Savings Survival Guide).

Recycling is the best, isn’t it?

Sometimes I spray paint the outsides of the lids silver to make them look even better. I’ve also done this with the large pickle jars I keep my pantry items in too.

Of course, I don’t want just a bunch of salsa jars that I have to figure out every time I cook. After a while, it all looks the same.

Well, that’s where these herb and spice jar labels come into play.

I create labels for my jars and put them on each jar. they are both decorative and practical.

Problem solved.

Jugendstil Art Nouveau Style Spice Jar Labels

As for this design, in particular, it was inspired by the Jugendstil design motifs of turn of the century Vienna. I used to live in Vienna and the Jugendstil design vibe makes me feel right at home.

In America and parts of the rest of the world, the word for Jugendstil was actually Art Nouveau.

These attractive square herb and spice jar labels feature a retro art nouveau style decorative frame and the words “dried herbs and spices”. The larger area can be left blank or filled with custom words.

I also have other labels in the same style for other uses in the Kitchen or as Bookplates. You can find them at the Thoughts and Designs Zazzle store, or on this website.
