When it comes to setting any kind of goals, I always take the time to pray about those first, seeking out God’s wisdom in setting my goals. God promises to give us all wisdom if we ask Him for it, so ask away! (see James 1:5).
When it comes to praying about your goals, there are a few things to keep in mind:
Pray Before You Decide on Goals
Wait on God in prayer for His wisdom and guidance in setting your goals. Among the many good and worthwhile things you could be shooting for, and involving yourself in, God knows which of those is best. Ask Him to help you figure out where to set your priorities.Pray Before You Decide on Goals Click To Tweet In James 1:5, God promises to give us wisdom if we ask. Did you ask yet? Click To Tweet
Prayer is Not Asking God to Give His Stamp of Approval
Many times, I’ve been guilty of deciding on my own course of action and praying to ask God to bless it and approve it. It is difficult sometimes to rely fully on God for direction and guidance, but it is well worth it to get His guidance before you start down any path.Prayer is Not Asking God to Give His Stamp of Approval Click To Tweet
Pray for Help Achieving Your Goals
The same God that guides and directs you toward what is the best way to use your time and money is also able to enable you as you work towards your goals. In the Bible, God not only promises to give you wisdom and direction (Psalm 119:105), but also enable you to do what He has called you to do, and provide for you as you do it.Pray for Help Achieving Your Goals Click To Tweet
